Dr. Zvirblis and I, have treated neck pain for many years. Unfortunately most people wait to come in to see us, after suffering for many years. I have had the chance to work with primary care doctors and specialized pain management doctors and co-treated with them neck pain. The medical doctors have no good answers for neck pain. All they have is medical pills, which is not the solution. The pain docs and the primary care doctors now refer us these people these neck pain patients.
Neck pain can be caused by many things. If it is a bone pinching a nerve then you need to come visit Dr. Z, especially if neck pain is caused by an automobile accident or trauma. We have xrays available to see the bones.
Now just be careful, neck pain can end up causing headaches, and radiating pain, and shoulder pain. As I have said, if you find out the underlying cause of the neck pain, and treat that, don’t just cover it up with medications.
Migraines & Chiropractic
Migraines can be a terrible experience for most people. Over the last 13 years I have heard some horrible symptoms associated with migraines. The worst part is that even though you could get past the pain of the migraine, the migraines make it impossible to function your everyday life.
I remember Betty came in with tears in her eyes. She just couldn’t do it anymore. She was on the brink. The migraines prevented her from going to work, being with her kids, cooking for her family. She was incapacitated. She tried multiple over the counter drugs, and prescription drugs. It was always hit and miss if they would work.
Betty actually said that she “wished she was dead” ! Now fortunately I personally don’t get migraines but when Betty made that statement, it struck a cord and a I realized how horrible this must be for her.
We evaluated her and found that part of the puzzle maybe the very top vertebrae irritating her spinal cord. The bone was compressing on the nerve, which went to her head, and the nerves went behind her eyes. After evaluating her, we applied gentle treatments to her neck, and over 2 months she felt like “a whole new person”.
We didn’t cure the migraines for Betty, but we could control them and help her. Now whenever she felt like one was coming on, she would get treated by removing the “interference” of the nerve. It’s better than taking the powerful drugs she was on, which didn’t work.
Hopefully you enjoyed this blog about migraines and found it helpful.
